26/07/2022ISO 27001 BGYS Certificate Requirement for Companies Providing IT Services to Public Institutions
The Ministry of Industry and Technology published the "Regulation on Authorization of Participants within the Scope of Public Informatics Service Procurement" in the Official Gazette on 29 June 2022. According to this regulation, the criteria that the participants should have in the procurement of information services to be made by public administrations, authorizations in line with these criteria, and cancellation or suspension processes in cases where the specified criteria are not met were determined.
According to the regulation
With this regulation, companies that will provide information services to the public must have TÜRKAK accredited TS EN ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management System Certificate.
The regulation will start to be implemented 3 months after the publication date (29.09.2022), and the Public Procurement Authority will regulate its own legislation within 1 year and ensure that the necessary competency documents are sought in tenders within the scope of the Public Procurement Contracts Law.
In this context, companies in the IT sector need to start certification processes in order to comply with this regulation.
